Drills to improve Accuracy:
4 corners- The catcher should set up at each corner of the plate. This drill can be done from the wrist snap position all the way back to the mound. The pitcher should hit all 4 corners of the plate in a row before moving back.
Blind drill- The catcher should set up at each corner of the plate. The pitcher should set up as described with the 4 corners drill. However this time she will close her eyes just before she delivers the pitch to help balance and visualization of body. Closing the eyes helps bring awareness to the other senses and allows a pitcher to tap into the "feel" of her body and mind as she prepares to pitch. This drill can be done from the wrist snap position all the way back to the mound. The pitcher should hit all 4 corners of the plate in a row before moving back.
String-line/bat-line drill- Set up parameters with string/bat through/around which to throw moving pitches:
Drop ball - set string at knee height - ball must be pitched below string without bouncing
Change-up - set string at knee height - ball must be pitched below string without bouncing
Curveball - hold bat across plate from the right hand batters box - ball bends around end of bat
Screwball - hold bat across plate from the left hand batters box - ball bends around end of bat
Rise ball - Hold bat/set string at waist height - ball bends up over the string/bat
